Our Biggest Accomplishments

Although this is technically an old post since I wrote it a year ago and put it on my old 3C blog, I was feeling a bit sentimental and wanted to share it with my 2C class since I am feeling a bit sentimental about them, too. Here goes...

"Today's post is dedicated to Mr. Ciway's and my daughters, Connie and Cathie. As of May 15th 2010, Cathie is (was) a graduate of Concordia University, Mequon, Wisconsin. (Connie already did her father and I proud a few year's back, graduating from Carthage College, Kenosha, Wisconsin.) All you have to do is look at their sweet faces to know how much these two sisters love each other. Despite a few years' age difference, these two share a bond that is beautiful. I have a sister of my own and understand just how tight that bond can be.

Both of our daughters possess unique gifts - Connie is an accomplished artist with an extraordinary vision while Cathie has the voice of an angel, blessed with a musical talent that will give you goose bumps. My husband and I often wonder where they got those amazing gifts - certainly not from him or me!

Although they both have these remarkable talents, that is not why I have labeled this post "Our Biggest Accomplishments." It is titled this way because of the exceptional women they have become and because of the strong character they possess. Both Connie and Cathie make Mr. Ciway and I proud because of the way they treat the people they meet every day. Words like generosity, kindness and empathy define how they live their lives.

No matter how the future plays out, Mr. Ciway and I know that Connie and Cathie will make the world a better place just having been here. Who knows what marvelous things they will accomplish - we are filled with anticipation, waiting to see.

I think it is fairly obvious that we think our girls are pretty special - no surprise there. Parents tend to feel that way, don't they? My girls are now both officially adults, ready to take on the world in meaningful ways. Your children are just beginning the journey towards this goal. I hope in a decade or so you will share your "Biggest Accomplishments" once again with me. I will always feel a part of them and also of you."

I am proud of you all....
